To the excitement of webtoon fans all over the world, Netflix has announced that it will be producing a new Korean Netflix Original series named Hellbound (working title).
Unsurprisingly, Hellbound, is a story about supernatural beings that appear without notice to condemn people to hell and will be directed by Yeon Sang-ho who is known for his box office hit Train to Busan.
As the story unfolds, while mankind is forced to survive under conditions of utter mayhem and chaos, there is also the added confusion of an upshot religious group that interprets the supernatural occurrences as the will of the divine.
Hellbound, is adapted from a popular and highly acclaimed webtoon named Hell or 지옥 in Korean and is intended to be a collaboration between director Yeon Sang-ho and webtoon illustrator Choi Gyu-seok, who is also the author of Songgot, a webtoon that was adapted as a television drama in 2015.
This production is highly anticipated as besides his successful 2016 film Train to Busan, director Yeon Sang-ho has also directed its sequel Peninsula, which will be released in Korean theaters in the coming months.
As an avid fan of Train to Busan, I cannot wait to experience what Hellbound has to offer.
